Coming soon! AZ Blue Prior Authorization Gold Card Program

We’re looking forward to the upcoming launch of our new Prior Authorization Gold Card Program. The program is designed to streamline the prior authorization request process for qualifying providers and facilitate quicker access to care for Blue Cross^® Blue Shield^® of Arizona (AZ Blue) members.

Which providers are eligible for the program?

The gold card designation recognizes professional providers who consistently adhere to evidence-based clinical criteria and, as a result, have had a very high prior authorization approval rate over the past year. Qualifying (eligible) gold card providers’ requests for prior authorization will be fast-tracked for immediate approval.

By early August, we’ll set up an online information page with more details and the initial participant list. You’ll also see the program mentioned in our prior authorization request forms to make it easy to navigate the process of initiating a quick approval.
