How to take your quality coding to the next level
Your claim coding data helps us ensure appropriate reimbursement and close care gaps for common chronic conditions. Coding that accurately identifies patient condition specificity and severity also enables us to track health trends and make additional resources available to Blue Cross® Blue Shield® of Arizona (AZ Blue) members who need them.
See these helpful tips for implementing recent changes to the CMS Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) model. The tips cover updated coding guidelines for diabetes, metabolic disease, cognitive and psychiatric diseases, heart and vascular diseases, and lung and kidney diseases.
