Good news! Your teams can now find BlueCard (out-of-area) claims through the Availity® portal’s enhanced claim status tabs. These three “short-cut” tabs allow you to do a quick search for claims by date of service, member ID, or claim number.
You can still use the HIPAA Standard search tab if you prefer, but the enhanced claim status tabs are designed to save you time. Not only do you get faster searches, but also the response success rate on these tabs averages around 95%.

You can validate eligibility without an ID card: Did you know you can check eligibility without an ID card? It’s easy on the Availity portal—just search with the patient’s member ID and date of birth and you’ll get the current status with all the details. You can also download AZ Blue member ID cards and save a copy to your patient file.
